Career Edition
We have a new Web developer on the scene! Her name is Mery Saylor! She has fresh eyes, GREAT attention for detail and design, and loves clean lines and the use of white space. Mery is currently fighting imposter syndrome and working on her portfolio. Luckily she has found a superhero mentor at her company that makes time to help her through. Can she do it? We will find out on our next career edition. Unitl then, Mery will continue spinning her positive energy into all she does.
Mery came on to the Nielsen scene in 2021, October 12th. She has moved into a more technical technical role as a Customer Support Specialist. She moved there 2022, June 27th. Mery has, quite impressively, quickly and efficiently learned how to use new programs she had only heard of before, such as SalesForce, and FileZilla. Mery also gets to use familiar tech such as Notepad++. Have you ever come into 500+ emails, organized them, and gotten them all managed without missing one? Well, Mery has, not every time, but she does her best every time.
Who was in the top 3 since starting? Mery, that's who! Mery's numbers for coaching were always superb! Mery takes coaching and what is said to her seriously, implementing how she can the next time she is on the floor, and made it work. She could complete surveys with the grumpiest of people, in an organized and efficient manner. People often had a hard time hanging up after the survey because Mery made respondents feel heard and developed a bond, in just 30 minutes.
Followers or community? That is the question. The question is what are you aiming for? Do you want to talk at people or do you want people to interact with you? Mery wants a little bit of both, so that is why she is growing her social media following on LinkedIn. She started getting serious about growing a following and connections back in March 2022. She is currently at 4500+ followers at 8 months. While numbers are nice, Mery is working on providing value however she can for her connections/followers.
They tell you to do what you love. They also tell you to do your best and become the best at what you do. These two bits of advice are what helped Mery start Upsychelly (up-psyche-l-e). Mery loves to upcycle things to keep them going longer, such as reusing a platic bag or paper for another use. There are endless possibilities of creations, and Mery is using her creativity to create projects to share with everyone through Upsychelly.
Alright so this last one was not planned out. It just sort of happened. You have to create content to show. Mery has been creating content online for her company Upsychelly through LinkedIn, YouTube, and more.
